Seattle Freeze ?

So this is for the wet siders mostly, but if you have visited Seattle, chime on in as well.

The Seattle Times: Pacific Northwest Magazine : Our Social Disease

Have you experienced it? Do you think it is true or just jibber jabber from a boored journalist and it is going viral because it is winter.

I do like the Have a Nice Day; Somewhere ELSE

I think it applies to just about any city. People just are not as nice as they used to be they have tunnel vision on a road called me. There the only one on the road, at the store or in line. Its hard to break through that thick shell and burst there bubble of hey its not all about you, show some common courtesy. I have told several young lady checkers you need to go to charm school. I'm sorry you don't like your job but don't take it out on my eggs. I walk away hearing the words bitch. So Seattle, Spokane, Belt Buckle Idaho you run into the freeze anywhere you go.

Uh this goes for just about everywhere in America. I've lived all over this country and everyone is nice, but if you're not from there you don't belong there doesn't really bother me.

I have discovered a new iteration of the Seattle Freeze... the newly imported copping an attitude because they are now 'from' Seattle. wtf biatch I was born here, not some damn import. Go get over yourself in the corner. And really, any 'local' knows to stay away from Staryacks.

I've notice that over here to .."where you from" chest puffs.."Seattle" or "where are you moving to" chest puffs "Seattle". So apparently that makes you some type of celebrity or something. If you tell people your from Spokane you either get the sympathy look or "wheres that at." I guess were all just a bunch of road kill eaten hillabillies over here. But I still know better than to go to Staryacks.

In Montana we never asked where people were from... sometimes you didn't want to know. I've noticed lots of people moving there will eventually feel the need to tell you anyway and I've noticed the local disappointment when it's another "Out-a-stater" whose going to try to make Montana just like where they moved away from and raise the price of everything so the locals can't afford to live there anymore... yeah it's awesome.

The Hollywood actors are my favorites- pshycos!

Hank Jr. ain't bad tho and David Letterman just drives like he's nuts...

My motto: Montana Sucks! Now go home and tell your friends.
