Question Best first date spots in the Seattle area?

Where do you recommend for taking a first date, somewhere around the general Seattle area?

oh, very good question. I would base that decision on a few factors. Time of year, who the girl is and what she likes to do. How much we already know each other or how comfortable we are around each other already. For example I wouldn't do anything at my house with a girl I'd hardly even met before.

For example Summer is easy. Go hiking in Issaquah and watch the paragliders (my favorite) or kirkland waterfront for food and or drinks or go for a ride to Snoqualmie falls. If she's not quite that adventerous I like the cook dinner together angle. Maybe a little to forward for a first dat but it's great if you're already pretty comfortable with this person and they wont think hanging out at your place is wierd.

Also, for me being a single parent something kid friendly is huge so even something as simple as going to the mall where the kids can play and we can go to the pet store to show them the animals.... then maybe go do the cooking things letting the kids do their thing. when they go to sleep watch a movie. I'm kinda old fashioned stay at home kinda person.

On a Friday or Saturday night this is an amazing place to eat. Serafina - Seattle Italian Restaurant They have delicious food, very romantic atmosphere and live jazz and blues on Friday and Saturday. Not to mention a fabulous wine selection....Highly Highly recommended.

There's this really cool spot near the pike place market called "The Pink Door"... The only way to find it is to go down an Alley and find the pink door.... literally... no signs, just a pink door. You walk in and its like this prohibition era bar and italian joint and on saturdays they do a burlesque show. Super cool ambiance if you're into that sort of thing.

As far as "big city" dates I don't think it gets better than that. For an anniversary a few years ago I took my SO to Seattle, stayed in a swanky hotel near the top floor, went to fancy martini bars and the pink door, came back and had sex in front of the window on top of the hotel looking down on the city. It was AMAZING. Highly recommended..

I like Adam's. I'm all for unique dates. A 'first date' I was on once was actually pretty cool. We had actually kinda planned just to visit a bit over coffee (mid-day) and that lasted a while and turned into:

Coffee, dinner, desert, movie, and late-night snack. I think it was something like 13 hours? Kinda fun, definitely a unique experience.

I also took my (ex)girlfriend on a hike for V-Day to a little place I know on the Stuck river where we were alone and away from almost anyone and I had packed a picnic lunch for us to just spend the day enjoying the sunshine and each others company. It went quite well. Went even better when she got home and found the rest of her presents.

IMHO, the 'standard' dinner/movie thing is kinda overdone and doesn't show that you're willing to put in the extra effort to do something more fun or more fitting to their personality.

plus dinner and a movie is expensive now. going hiking and cooking dinner together is more intimate, more time to talk, and more fun.

Dinner and a movie is cool if you're dating someone, theres a movie you both really want to see, and you're confident you could spend a decent amount of time talking to this person about the movie.

With my ex we would do the dinner movie nights now and again and we were very different in that I like to break movies down and talk about symbolism and analogies etc etc and she definitely was not so dinner was often awkwardly silent.

Its a bit spendy, but it is the knock the socks off impression. The resturant out at the marina off the end of Ballard. Palisades. Had a couple of holiday parties there back when I was working office corporate. Great views, stellar food, matching prices.

Adelia ;) pics over in the 45+ topic.
Ive known her for 6 months but we never dated. I helped her mom snag a Microsoft d00b. She has worked as a 'model' which I am not sure what that means over there, but um yeah, I can see why she had the job.
And to sum up, she is 20, Russian, and a ball o fun/trouble. She flies back home to Odessa this week because mom doesnt approve of us 'dating' and because immigration wont let her stay in country once her visa expires.
