So Amazingly Happy I'm a Lady Living in Lacey, WA | Single Parents: Do you ever get overwhelmed?
This question comes up because my new furnace is blowing cold air. Story: Old furnace DIED.. heated the house with the pellet stove.. but not before I had to get that fixed too (it was the cheaper fix). Finally invested a small fortune into a new furnance/heat pump. Have had them back maybe 6 times now.. and I'm sitting here noticing a draft and the furnance hasn't shut off since 9:00... and guess what.. it's blowing cold air. So as a single mom with a house.. I have to do it all.. the traditional domestic duties as well as all the house maintenance.. Which equates to everything being half assed it seems. *sigh* Just wondering if the other single parents on here ever feel overwhelmed by not having the other traditional s/o to help out. If not, what's your secret?? ![]() |

Domestic duties seem to always be the priorty. The major repairs and things of that nature have been on the backburner as a result. I've given up caring a long time ago. |

Sounds like your electronic igniter isn't sparking the gas flame (if you have a gas furnace). The fan will continue to run until the temperature comes up to the preset temp (which it never will since there is no flame)..so it will run and run. As far as being overwhelmed as a single dad...your furnace situation is no biggie. For me, it becomes a pain to keep the house clean or organized at times. Three bathrooms to clean and I still have rooms that haven't been organized since I moved in over a year ago ![]() |

I have a list of 'house' stuff that needs to be done.. I think I just get overwhelmed by the list then don't know where to start. I know what you mean about the moving in part.. I still have boxes.. but I think mainly because I don't have a garage. I'm sitting in the living room looking at a pressure washer.. Just sad...

Ahh..electric OK...might be the heat pump then...supposedly pulls heat out of the air to cumulatively heat the house...perhaps the fan is made to run constantly..feels cool...but in reality is adding heat to the house.. just a swag... Either way...pressure washer in the living room eh? ![]() My den has a couple of racing seats plus harnesses...been there for about 6 months..and I've only just recently removed the power steering pump from the kitchen counter ![]() I do however take credit for some painting though...my youngest sons room was pink for at least 3 months before I finally got around to painting it.....I always wondered why he didn't want any friends to come over ![]() |

^^LOL.. That's cute. It's been two years here and the walls still aren't painted. Lots and lots of paint sitting around the house though. One of these day! ;)

Sorry to stray from the topic but if it is getting to temp and is blowing cold air make sure the fan is set to auto or off.

So I think something isn't quite right as eventually it warms up. Who knows.. I also can't get warm myself so maybe I'm just sick.. But hopefully they can figure out why it keeps doing the high pitched pressure release sound it's been doing. Joy Joy. Thanks for the tip though DD.

It's really funny that you mention that because as.. well... hard it is to say, sometimes I feel like I have to be mom too. At least when I do move on to a serious relationship you won't have to bitch at me to clean up after myself because now I clean up after myself and my wee one :P
