the last time I went out, it was to a bunker in the middle o nowhere with no commercial internet connection.
Its just this side of witsec, cant say where I have been, what I was doing, how long I was there, or when I would be coming back.
Basic message was

That was like when my Uncle was in Nam. He would just tell us we wouldn't hear from him for awhile, my Dad would pace the floor it was sometimes months. I knew every time a strange car pulled up my Dad thought the worst. But then we would get a call I'm OK. Just so you know City I don't like this.. not at all. Can't you just go teach gun safety, women's self defense or maybe teach kids or girls how to ride. You would be good at all of them and you could teach English to our Russian population.

Ah the good old days of being somewhere where you're not supposed to be, doing stuff you're not supposed to. I miss it sometimes but then again I like coming home everyday. Is it a private company or gov that you'll be doing this for? What type/high of clearance do you need? And most important, do you get to shoot at "targets"?

^^at the expense of other peoples lives. Its those other people, I have a very High respect for not the Gov. who doesn't pay them what there worth. Now if I were the Pres. you join the military you go to war and put your life on the line for your country. Its an automatic million in the bank account and that's still not enough for a life. Like I said I have the highest respect for those who serve and have served. But not the ones who send them there and forget about them.

Tell you what, go ahead and deposit my million, I'm sure I can flip it and be comfortable for quite a while. For most who have served they do it because they believe in it. I do suspect that many joined up after 9/11 just like after Dec. 7th, 1941. There are some who truely love that job (I don't know why) and some that do their time and get out. Not once while I was in did I give a rat's ass about who was in office and if they were concerned about me and my fellow brothers and sisters. I do appreciate those like you who are truely concerned for this country's military and the gesture of your thoughts are nice but I have to say I was pretty well compensated while I was in. What other job do you know that gives you free medical, dental, money for food, money for housing, tax free paychecks when you're in a dangerous place, and travel all over the world?

If I were the Pres I would without hesitation. I know others that were not as well compensated as you and some who get a very nice monthly check still.( one cousin a Army Ranger another a Seal..crazy man hes dead now.) I have other family members who died in the line of duty and several still serving. They all have your same attitude and they all belong to different branches of the military. I have one we haven't heard from in a while he's in somewhere like City and you describe. I now watch my Uncle deteriorate from the effects of Nam, things have changed a lot for those who serve since then thank God.
