Wedding Plans

Yep, its offical. I asked, she said yes. She has the ring. I still have to meet her parents in march; but I am not imagining that will be a big hurdle .

I am glad she got out before the snow. Though if DHS werent such tight wad nincompoops she could have stayed until it melted. It was a fast week. Too Fast.

So the wedding plans.
I have suggested the Russian Orthodox Church in Seattle on November 15; our anniversary
a second would be the Greek Orthodox Church in Port Townsend
a Third is Whistler village with a snow ball fight reception.
She has suggested
a trip to Moldova ! Hedonist honeymoon before and after !
an escape to Donetsk for a winter at her parents 'summer' dacha
a wreck the dress event at Disney Castle in the Carribean

tempting one and all. So we are gonna keep it small. but I keep hearing murmings about a BIG wedding from her family - and my best man is giving me shiate because he had 400 at his..... I dont even KNOW 400 people !
(and not really sure I want to either, I am a bit anti social)

so that is our plans

What is the most outrageous/romantic/distant/favorite wedding story - idea ?

oh the crate and barrel banner, sux ! because she is not a resident we cant enter, but I did have some fun with the entrance none the less

Our cross cultural Story (100 words)

The translation is more than 100 words; it is the way English is.

Here we find our Grizzly with long fangs and sharp claws,
old from experience and a tough life
He considers that the whole world was sad, grumpy, and cursed -
and so it returned the favor
It is time for hibernation - with a full belly and an empty heart,
He had carried himself through the woods to his cave,
He found in the middle of the floor, a little hedgehog;
even peacefully sleeping as if waiting
Bear growled in a deep grumbly voice
'Who are you - What are you doing here?
The hedgehog glanced to him and without fear,
in a quiet whispered song
"You are not the scary frightening one you think you are -
you are not all claws and fangs.
Could you even dare to resist your desire to lay with me,
your little Kalenka?"
And indeed our Bear, as if suddenly, fell out of his right mind -
his heart took to flight as if on a strong winter wind
The little Hegehog sang 'You will come to know our Love - dont be frightened- my Teddy bear - because we are in it together'

Congrats, and I truly mean that but I will be the first to speak up and say what's on my mind, especially when it comes to friends. Dude, I think I can be open, I think I have stated over and over again how much I respect you but...90 days and your're ready for a life long commitment? CS, if this is what you want, I fully support it, I mean that. But what is the rush? Don't people live together anymore. I am some what protective of friends and any of my friends who want to pull the trigger on such a commitment after such a short amount of time raises a red flag in my book. Yes, you can display your haterade on me for saying so but I personally have grave reservations about this. Again, and I can't state it enough, if this is what you truly want I'll be your best man if you ask. I guess I can only give you the advice I give my close friends and kids, if you think it's right, I'll be there. I would sure hate to see you hurt anymore and as a mother would like to see the relationship mature.

Fellow PNWlovers' please post your hate and anger openly or if so inclined in a pm. I have always, and always will, support this family. I am in no way trying to detract from CS happiness but honestly expressing my concern for someone I care for. And for God's sake spell bitch and cunt correctly.

B, Glad to hear it. I wish nothing more than your happiness. I apologize if I have retracted that feeling from your post.

Congrats

D

^^^I don't think living together is allowed.
City Dorian and I are very protective over people we care about. We both just want you to to live happily ever after. So I'm sure you can understand how our Mother bear hairs could be up a bit. I mean after all your one of us and we protect our own However if you say all is good, then we are ecstatic for you and we'll pull our claws in. Right Dorian.

I am a paranoid mutha fr
my risk contengencies and alterier mitigations have got me here
and by here I mean a double edge sword
the LAST relationship was living together - for 17 years. In the end the last hand ful were loveless, life draining, energy sapping, self loathing sex less, tedious, and accusatory.
so indeed, not being married doesnt ensure a shiatty time, it just means no divorce, though after 7 in this state, you are considered common law; we got a 'civil pre nupt' to cover my ass at six years. yes I am that paranoid.

so on this one, totally different, this was from the very beginning - I am going to go to the Ukrain and rack up a girly count that would put a 80's band to shame - I planned on nailing everything and taking a pass at their hot mom and naughty sister, fried, coworker, roommate what have you . And indeed I did have a bit of fun doing that. I will never regret moment one with Adeli
(the crap after wards, yes, but the times with were fun)

So here is the ruling.
If we get married in Ukraine, she has to wait two years to be a citizen, and six months after the marriage can petition for residency. Probably the route we will go , because the wedding is more important to her family that. My family is totally opposed to it, so meh on them. Once she is here officially, we will have a state side union to make it officious for the courts and what not. That will be the one at the Orthodox church in Port Townsend.
So slowing things down, It is still a six month engagement, a six month wait after marriage, and a two year wait for citizen ship. And it could all go terribly wrong inbetween.

And here is the paranoia. And god damnit if I havent seen it enough times, that I should know better.
There is a trend for the russian wives that I have been working with in the past to claim domestic violence and get citizenship under false pretenses of 'abused spouse assylum' and of course the groom is out of his own house, sued, screwed, maybe incarcerated, definately divorced, and now has a record.

on the mitigation side of this is that I have several friends in law enforcement, in immigration , and at the attorney's office for immigration because I do indeed speak and translate for many of these cases. So I know people that would more likely than not, back my shit up to keep me from getting fucked over.
I grew up in a home with domestic violence, it is how I lost my mother. I have never hit a girl, not even in gest. If there is an arguement, and it gets heated, I walk, or ride out. and I am gone, maybe for days. and when i come back if it aint settled, then we are done. Of course marriage adds a whole nother level to it.

So I will end with, I dont fucking know, I cant fucking guarantee, I have hope, faith and trust and that is it. I do own a big dose of paranoia

CS, you have alway been one to speak your mind. I can't respect you anymore for your yourself having hesitations. Dude, I care for you. Yes, the whole caring thing is relativly new to me so I may not articulate my self in a politically correct way. This is my take. I, as you, have nothing but shitty relationships. This makes me incredibly scared of a new one. I need the fucking requirments...trust and integrity.

I support my friends. If you are sure than I will hug her when she gets here *and may whisper a sweet nothing in her ear*. As long as you know what the possible results will be I totally support your choice. Ok , I just lied. B, you need a woman who treat you like you're the only person on the planet. If she does that I'll walk the bitch down the aisle, ooops, not that your fiance is a bitch...

CS, I guess this situation forces me to open up about some things. I never made freinds easily. I forced everyone and everything out of my life. I found PNW and every horrible experience that I imagined happened. I found a sister that no matter what I did loved me..I was incredibly over whelmed. I found support through a man who I lost suddenly, both things took me down at the knees. Not that he knows it or would understand it but I found a truely inspirational friend in CForce. All these relationships from forums. These things scare the hell out of me. It it difficult for me not to rage on people that would even consider hurting these people and sir, I am capable of incredible rage. Then PNW love came along and I took to you like a whore to a Vegas convention.

I only want the absolute best for you.. I meant that from the bottom of my heart.

And what a horrible question, where does it leave you. Dude, your are an amazing person. You should be having the pick of the litter, not the other way around.

Your smart, you know what is in your heart. Bad or good, I'll have your back. Oh, and yea, what LD said, she hurts you it's on, I mean BLAZING on.

thanks, I appreciate all the support, and y'all have really bared witness to my shiat on a level that nobody else has. I really thank y'all for that. I will confess if I knew what the f*ck I was doing, I would have 'arrived' long ago.

When I get back, I will turn up the heat from my old unit. I still have some contacts, and know some very introspective people that owe me favors. If there is something rotten or hinkey; they will find it - access has its priveleges. Like I said, I am one paranoid mutha f-r. You dont make it to 42 and not been married , not had kids by accident. It was a well planned well orchestrated course of avoidence, deference and indifference.
And it would be easy to say that I was thinking with the little head instead of the big one, but for months there wasnt any physical contact at all.
This is either going to be the best romance success story of my life, or the worse utter failure that should be in a dime store paper back.

matters of the heart are never logical, I have tried that, with no success as well. Worse case scenario, we have another little ethnic cleansing this summer in Georgia, there is nothing like dead bodies stacked ontop of bodies to put your life in perspective.

Well- I'm afraid I would be a lousy host because I got roped into helping with a "motorcycle event" here in Wenatchee. We are working out details but it will be a benefit for the Wenatchee Downtown Association so they can purchase new Christmas lights for downtown Wenatchee!

Events include a bike show, swap meet, poker run, games, bike wash, music, etc.

That said I'm afraid I will be busy with that either in preparing for or actually being there. It's a small group so we are all going to have to go above and beyond.

It's free to the public and of course you all should come to participate or just enjoy yourselves! I just don't think I'll have time to also host a shop party at the same time. There are lots of nice places to have a get together here in Wenatchee though- thinking of camping this time?

ok, back to the wedding plans !
I have had contact with some friends and a 'company' asset that are in Kiev; they are going to do the due diligence for me (they owe me big from Kosovo-god bless foreign service contacts) and they are going to 'fix' the travel arrangements and accomadations and save me thousands. I just have to pay them some drinking money.... well that will be a fun weekend ! So excited to have things firming up, still not sure if I am going there to expat, of if indeed we will come back here.... (really, all the jobs seem to be overseas)

and the Buell is going.... It will be replaced by a Ural; more off road capability, and Tati wont ride on the back, but she will in a side car.

well its official. EVERYBODY has chimed in with their DONT's
My sister has said that after what happened to the father in law that she would not support the marriage.
My friends wife is not happy about him supporting and standing a wedding that she terms as wife slavery
and a few close friends have all chided that she will rob you, kill you, divorce you, have you buried by her mob controllers.

(and I thought I was a pessimist ! ) so it looks like they have all been uninvited ! looking more and more like the wedding will happen in Moldova, and they will see it on skype if at all. I have resumes and applications out to relocate there. Its just a matter of time

Wow I have my concerns however I trust your judgement. I'm sorry, ther just worried about you. People are afraid of what they don't understand..you should still have the wedding here. I don't want you to move what if things get really bad here. Remember your going to be my neighbor I supply the food you supply the firepower If it makes you feel any better there wasn't to many people on the happy wagon when I decided to marry Duane either. 30 + years later most of them are eating there words.

I heard the same shiate when I joined the military at 16; oh youll get killed, theres war you know, you end up dead.
Having been through the Gulf for two separate conflicts, and mobilized for every slavic ethnic clensing since 1993.... I have seen my fair share of death - and the thing about what I do; it is usually far removed from the violence, and I probably safer than they are rolling to the corner store to get groceries.

And in my investment strategies since 1982; if it was on the news, and a run in popularity - I would, have and will again, DUMP the stock. It has not failed me yet. Its called Contrairian Investments, and mitigation. You buy off cycle, off hype. it is what leads me to a Mexican restuarant on St Patties day, and an Irish pub on cinqo de Mayo.... if EVERYBODY is doing something, I avoid it. If EVERYBODY is warning against it; it is most likely the course of action I will choose. (after checking the risks and mitigation)
So for me the Ukraine is ON, She is my ONE, and f- em all.
