Best date ever!

We've touched on first dates, worst dates, worst first dates, how to date...

so I'm wondering what might be your favorite, most memorable date.. And why it sticks out amongst the others.

Hmmm, I have so many.

But I can tell some memorable ones.

Mine was a simple date but this one is the most memorable one. We watched a movie at my place. Hacker was the movie with Angelina Jolie when she was still soo young, lol. We got Papa John Pizza for dinner and spooning watching the movie. I didn't realize Hacker was a pretty good date movie, lol. I thought it was a nerd kinda movie. After the movie, I had my first kiss with her for hours. It was the longest kiss I've ever had to date. We didn't go all the way, but the very next day, she came back, and I lost my virginity to her.

Next one, different girl
We went to Bali Island and Lombok Island for a whole week.
In Bali, we enjoyed the sunset on the beach and the stars at nite.
In Lombok, we pretty much had the whole beach to ourselves.
I remember she lost her trip money in the sea because she was so excited about the beach and started swimming before changing into swim suit.
I got my scuba mask and started searching the bottom of the sea.
I found her money under the sea bed. I was so scared of shark since I swam pretty far, but I didn't give up and got her trip money back. Oh man, we made out all nite long celebrating that miracle event.

next memorable wild one,
We went out to Hyatt Hotel. I reserved a Hotel room and asked for the highest floor. It was a very nice location. It was also New Years eve. We started with dinner in the main restaurant. Then we made love in the hot tub, in the sauna, and in the bed room. The room has huge windows. We watched the fireworks show at midnight from our hotel bedroom windows and celebrating new years eve. It was a beautiful sight and what a wild night.

oh, there are plenty others, but I'm too lazy to type em out, lol.

We went to Anthony's in Olympia. We sat on the deck over looking the water and as the sun set we drank wine. We talked about everything and anything. We laughed. I got a little teary eyed. It was so romantic and wonderful! It was one of the best nights ever!!!

Then she took me home and gave me a kiss and made sure I made it into my house safe and sound.

I don't know if any guy will ever be able to top my night with my Princess Sarah......

It was a surprise for Christmas so I didn't know ahead of time.

My boyfriend told me a little in advance that we were going on an all day date...and to dress nicely...so for an early Christmas present I bought him some really nice new clothes to wear (thanks Dizzle!!!!)

We went to the Space Needle because I have lived in Seattle forever and I have never been to the top...so we took pictures and walked around a bit and then had lunch at the spinning restaurant and we got to witness the accident with the tour bus hanging over I-5 from the best view possible lol. We picked the best day to go because it had snowed a bunch the day before and was sunny and beautiful for our date

Then, he took me to the science center because we are both total nerds, and I love nerdy things. It was freaking awesome... I got to play around with all the different exhibits and what not...we even did some calculations (wow, did I just admit to that???)....my nerd side was going crazy!

After that we came home and and got ready for dinner at a restaurant I had been dying to try, but it was always a little out of my price range...

The restaurant is called Crush...probably the best food in Seattle...it was a-mazing!!!

So yeah, that was my first real date

Do you mean like.. as in being a gentlemen.. or as in you were glad the date was over and didn't wish to date that person again.

This one was awesome:

Took the bus to Seattle because of the snow, checked into a nice hotel and went to a nice dinner. Had a few drinks with dinner and had a great time. Then we walked down the street to the theatre to see the Nutcracker. The Burlesque Nutcracker. Had a few more drinks at the show, and the show itself was lots of fun. Walked back to the hotel and put on a movie that we barely watched and cuddled on the bed until we fell sleep holding each other.

It was pretty much freaking awesome.

bump for a good thread!

When I was home from college for the summer, my new girlfriend drove all the way from Tri-Cities to NE Montana where I grew up to spend the weekend with me. It was probably what I would consider a 3rd date. I was thinking that she must be pretty interested in me to drive that far! We went to the park and campground that I used to take care of as part of my summer job and walked around on the “nature trail” I had built, showed her some of the sites where I grew up, went waterskiing with a bunch of my friends, fishing with just me at my favorite spot, and watched a few movies and talked in the evenings. We took my little VW dunebuggy into town and watched the parade and then went to our local car show (as I’m a total gearhead). There was an Elvis impersonator at the car show for entertainment… he had this mic/amp/speaker set up just sitting in the grass and he would sing Elvis songs all freakin day… he was an awesome one man show- hilarious I thought. I tried to fit as many activities as I could so we could stay busy and have more things to look forward to. Looking back though, the best part was that I felt that she learned a lot about me by seeing and experiencing those things. She had a much better understanding of why I am who I am. She still says that’s when she really got to know me as we hadn’t been dating for very long. This is prolly because I opened up a bit more on my home turf (hard to explain, but you prolly know what I mean). Regardless, she said she had a great time and couldn’t wait to see me again… less than 8 months later we were married. I always hoped that I’d just know when it was right… I’m happy that it was so clear for both of us.

I dated before meeting her though, maybe I'll think back and post some more past good experiences?

Are guys nowadays really that uninspired and noncreative? Why am I thinking it is all the guys' fault anyway? (I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt here TM!)

Where has all the romance gone?

Yeah, I don't blame just the guys. But any of the dates that I've been on (and I haven't been on very many) there were "neat" points of the dates, but there always seemed to be something that happened throughout the evening that made it Meh....example:

My now ex, for our first date invited his bestfriend. Our second date, invited his bestfriend and his girlfriend, they all proceeded to get totally wasted, and I ended up having to drive them all home...and neither one of these times did I know the others were invited, they just "appeared"...apparently I had to pass some sorta friend test Oh did I mention my ex, on the second date tried to actually kiss me after he threw up? Yeah..totally hawt.

But I've never had a date that was just amazing, never had anyone actually take the time to figure out something original to do, or something I would find just really awesome. But again, I haven't been on many dates either.

I think it's pretty sad that I can think of right off the top of my head, amazing days that I've had with my close friends, days that will be with me forever. Go figure.

That's pretty lame... and yeah, kissing a yuckmouth... not hawt at all. For me, evening ended. I used to have to drive my friends home all the time too, but I did it because it was better than the alternative. If I was on a date that did that to me, I'd think she wasn't very into me if she chose to get wasted instead. Prolly not go out again, unless there was something else that made up for it. (just kidding).

That seems so strange to me... I don't know how difficult you are to please, but this used to be a good approach for me... I would really trying to listen when I first met someone to make a mental note of their interests. Then I would think, "What experiences do I have that are related that I have already really enjoyed or would enjoy in the future that I would like to share with this person."

Example: wifey really likes to hike in the mountains, so when we were dating I took her to a place in Montana that I thought was exrordinary because of the huge boulders in the river - not many places like this one particular place, and it was impressive to me just because of the simple visual of these huge boulders. I know, it may sound dumb dumb to some people. (I'm from MT, so no sheep jokes please) So, I didn't know if she would like it or not, but I did and since she had a genuine interest in me, she wanted to see for herself what I enjoyed about this and get to know me better. She thought it was great and we ran up and down the boulders all day out in the river, fished a little, found a jacknife, and enjoyed the day in the wilderness. I guess it just depends on if people decide to make things fun or not a lot of the time. It wasn't that creative, but just something I enjoyed the first time I did it, so why not share it with her?

I don't really think I'm that hard to please...just have bad taste/experience with the people I've dated in the past. LAME TACO'S is what they were.

I do however look forward to the chance of something like you described above. I think it just takes the right person, and I'm willing to be patient for it.

I will go out on a limb and say that I've had really great times with a person that I'm very interested in without them even trying, but they weren't dates, just really great days

I got to thinking...

Back in my college years, my high school friends and I would come back home to work our summer jobs and we all got to continue hanging out. We all decided to go to North Dakota on a road trip (I grew up in MT). Two of my bromies played college baseball there and wanted to go back for the weekend, so we all went in one car (huge stationwagon). First night there (in ND), the 6 or 7 of us go out for pizza.

I leaned over to my one buddy and said, "What do you think of our waitress?"
He shrugged and said, "whatever".
I replied with an angry/confused look, "What the hell is wrong with you..." (I shoulda said, "do you know how I know your gay?")
Anyway, I thought she was beautiful- even in her pizza uniform. So, after she walked off, I threw the question out on the table and asked the fellas... and pretty much got the same response like before. When we were finishing up on like the 6th pizza, she asked if there was anything else we needed so I took that opportunity to ask her, "Would you like to come out with us tonight?"
She replied, "With all of you or just you?"
I said, "Just me, but with them…" as all my friends were now listening and waiting for the shoot down.
To my surprise she looked me over and said, "Sure, pick me before you go out around 8 or so" and she wrote down her address on my napkin (I had/need a stack of napkins). I said, "Great! I will!" and then I just looked around the table nodding my head slowly to the bachelors so proud of what I had done. They were pretty surprised and didn’t have much to say. It was like 100 degrees that day and in ND apparently it's humid because it felt hot, really hot. We all rode together in our huge old stationwagon we built (cause we always fought over who had to drive- this way we all rode together and split gas money and it had no air cond). Now it's about 8pm and the sun is just setting and it’s just starting to cool off, but still prolly 80F. So we go pick her up and she's wearing a Hawaiian sundress and looking gorgeous... I mean it fit her well and her hair is all done up... whew! I was liking that and I told her how great she looked... Now I think all my buds could see what I was saying earlier. So we all go to a downtown street dance (it was North Dakota Days or something) but she's only 19 and they were carding to get into this big party tent thing (beer garden is in there). Anyway, I was 22 or 23 and just told the bouncer, "She's with me" and he said, "ok then" and let us in. Again, I was pretty surprised, and I remember the look and smile she gave me for a second as we were walking in (lovely). Anyway, she turns out to have a great sense of humor and was very interesting. I was diggin' her, then she and some other girls get up on these elevated platforms holding the tent poles in place and pretending to show off their stripper moves (just for laughs- no clothing removed), but one of her straps pulls out of the back of her sundress. She comes over and says she has a problem! (as she's holding herself together) So, we went over to the bar and I asked the bartender if he has a safety pin... sure enough he does! I couldn't believe it! I didn’t think there was even a chance since this whole tent thing was a temporary setup. So I McGyver her strap back together so we can continue dancing (use the term loosely) and she thanked and thanked me (aww). My friends hook up with the other girls that were pole dancing and they decide we should go to their (girls') place because they (roommates?) live on a lake so we could all go skinny dipping (now it's way dark ~ midnight). Well, they did, which was hilarious because I think one of my buds had never seen a real life girl without clothes on before, so he was checking her out in macro from about 6 inches away! But my girl and I just sat on this pontoon boat chatting and getting an occasional kiss or two (well maybe more than two). It was such an unexpected and spontaneous good time... we exchanged emails and did that for a few weeks, but then they slowly dwindled off and ended. I think she prolly had a boyfriend there, and I was 800 miles away, so I could see how this was prolly gonna play out. I hadn't thought about this for a long time until I read this thread - good times. She was great and I hold that date as one of my all time favorites (don't tell my wife!). Thanks to her where ever she is!

So what do you think the cover of this smut-book should look like?

I'm a Dude
Living in bremertonapooloza
it was decades ago, seems like yesterday, I suppose that is telling.

It started with a midweek drive up to Canada, posing as tourists. Walking around the city speaking only in Russian, befuddling waitresses and hotel staff because we could. First time on Roller blades in Stanley park, A night in the city with a bay view, brunch in gas light district, dinner in a bathtub, two days later coming back for the Forth of July fireworks
It was a great week.
The next week not so much, I gots deployed for a special task.... 4 weeks later that task became Desert Storm, six months later we were officially done, never to see each other since that week in July.

I still cant hear or watch Chris Isaaks Wicked Game and not think of her.
