Do some people feel others are incomplete if they are single?

If someone is single and fine with it, and their married friends keep trying to set them up with a “nice” person they know, does that mean the friends think this someone is incomplete because they are not married?

I think it's that we feel bad that someone goes home alone... it depends though cause if the person is dating and just not settling down I don't think I'd try to set them up, but if they arent seeing anyone and not getting out their trying to meet someone, idk, i'd feel bad for them.....why wouldnt they want the companionship?....but i dont think it's cause people feel their "incomplete"

maybe they just know the joy of their own marriage and would like for you at some point to enjoy the same companionship.

Not necessarily. Maybe they just want you to be 'happy' like they are. Maybe they just don't want you to be the 3rd wheel when they go out to dinner with you?

Edit: I need friends like that....haha. Nobody ever tries to hook me up with anyone.

I've had many a couple friends try and set me up time after time. they always talk about wanting more couples to go out with or don't want me to feel like a 5th wheel or whatever.

I usually am sneaky with my ID checks since I have refused to date anyone <21 since the last younger one (who was 19 at the time) and I could always take her to a bar. If she got in then she was >21.

Edit: Although if you're at the part of the relationship at which the legal issues that could arise based on age were an issue and you don't know her age for sure by that point you should reconsider at which point you think you should be taking physical actions with the other person. IMHO you should know them well enough by that point it's not something you should have to think about.

NO, and if you feel someone is incomplete for being single, they need to be flogged. But, I CAN relate. I happen to know of one pretty freakin fantastic woman. I'd say EASILY, one of the best human being's I've met in along time. I often wonder why she is single TODAY, but I already know. Cuz she has freakin STANDARDS, a rarity in this day and age. NO drama, she places her beliefs before all else. She doesn't say, well this is the best I can do. That makes her special. Her day WILL come. I do get impatient for her to find someone to get to her level, but would NEVER fix her up unless he was the twin of my SO

the wives arent too keen on a bachelor in the mix. I am liable to take their husband out the the U District, the strip clubs, the cowgirl bar, and expose them to the enterouge lifestyle of booze, guns, drugs, rock and roll and a never ending stream of young tail.

or at least that is how they think I roll.
