I would say it depends on what you are looking for in a relationship. People mature at different ages, some later in life while some earlier in life. I know people who have a 10 year gap (woman being older) and they are happily married, while I know a married couple that are 20 days apart in age (again happily married). However if you are a 30 year old looking to settle down and have a family with a 20 year old who wants to party all the time with friends....chances are the 20 year old isn't going to be down for kids yet. Personally, I probly wouldn't go for someone more then 5 years older or 2 years younger.

Thanks to City's insomnia and bringing this topic back to the active list, I've realized that there is a woman about 10 years older than me that I am interested in dating. I've done the one night stand with an older woman, but never a relationship. Of course this is all academic right now as I'm dating someone who is younger currently.

I dated an 18 year old when I was 26... she was very immature and so was I at the moment (4 months or so?). Worked out fine until she decided to make out and nail some dude at a party I took her too... I had several gals come up to me afterward (her roommates included) and say, "SEE! I told you that would happen!" (like I didn't think it would ever happen or something?).

Oh, btw, I married a woman older than I am, which totally works for me. Well, exept when she tells me, "Hey listen to me... I'm older and wiser."

I've always gotten along better with an older crowd than younger, my Mom consistently tells me I'm more mature than she is, so I find it funny I've never dated an older woman. It's not for a lack of trying on my part, I always get the "you're too young" statement.

I actually got turned away and my DL almost taken cause they thought I was using a fake ID. No I'm really 30, yes that's really me WTF?

Oh and can't grow facial hair cause of my job requirements (fresh air)

Yeah I work at an oil refinery with some nasty chemicals, plus I'm a Captain with the fire team and a confined space rescue responder which requires me to go into places that have little to no air and get people out when necessary

Her mom (45) definitely thought 41 was too old to be dating her 20 year old daughter.
I am going to revise my ten year rule. Apparently there are some very fun exceptions to every rule.

im 31, most of the girls I have dated have been young, 22 to 25, I would seriously like to find someone closer to my own age for a change, then maybe we might actually be in the same spot in life, unfortunately it seems for me that when you find one around 30 that is single there is a reason they are single. At 23 they seem somewhat willing but lack the experience to know a good thing and still have to many yets! dating sucks!

I think mom would have been ok with it if I had proposed to the daughter and wasnt getting the proverbial milk without buying the cow.

I have just seen too many divorces run through that scenario, russian bride, yuppy MicroSoft d00b. I give it 2.4 years. IF she doesnt try and nail him for domestic abuse first. (the latest trend in foreign bride marriages) You would think that the courts would be up on the scam by now, its been going heavy since 2004.

The only thing the problem in age difference is when you cant decided wether the mom or the daughter.... Daughter 26... Hot, big tits, nice and right in all the places (expect mind--which is acceptable).....

Or mom 39 yrs young!.... Freak on a leash, can teach the young boy a few things in life... mostly in the dungeon!! Would pull out all the tricks in her book...

So which one to choose?!?! Single daughter or Married Mother (damn husband)
