Help! I want to have a Date!

Once I bought a book about Dating but to my dismay it doesn't talk much about the guidelines about dating. Its Pros and Cons, boundaries or limitations and everything about to learn on Dating. Is there any site that talk seriously about dating? Most singles tend to just grab the opportunity of having dates,unaware about best approach about dating. Relationship does not just bloom without first having a date. Well, it's good enough to know first the guidelines about dating to know more about people you go with on dates.
You see, once I date an obnoxious guy and certainly on our first date I was already disgusted! Yuck! these guys doesn't much care about other people!
Now I got this phobia on dating...I might end up to a weird guy.....

meh, I excluded a whole continent to avoid the trivial pedantic things I had seen out in the trenches.... excluding weird aint merely enough

Wow I'll get back to this later after I think of how many weird guys I dated to finally find some good ones...I thought that was the process.
