Question Is there such a thing?

Can someone be too easy going? I think I'm a fairly easy going person, but it has been brought to my attention maybe a little too much so? Is that possible?

No, you can't be too easy going. Be yourself and if someone doesn't like it oh well.

Noo!!! Never!!

I wish I had some of your "zen" woman.. I still get too riled up about certain things.. but I'm learning...

I'm surprised.. I'm used to hearing "youre too wired up" from ppl.. but I never would've thought someone would say the opposite about anyone..

I guess, just from perspective: It could be interpreted as not caring, which as I'm learning, is not true. It just means I think out things more clearly and choose to which battles to truely fight, rather than fighting every single last one of them.. (which is frigging exhausting)

yeah. you know you're too easy going when someone asks "what do you want to do" or "where do you want to eat" and you reply with "whatever"

i do that a lot. drives people insane. but i really have no preference. just hanging out and doing absolutely nothing keeps me content. anything other than that, and i'm elated.

like extra special bonus sex.

That is what was pointed out...that and I let folks off to easy without calling them on shit, but I'm not here to force anything on anyone is all I think, and I sure as hell not going to chase folks around...I dunno, feels like I've been doing it wrong.

There's nothing wrong with that. Less stress on you. Less worry.

I've let people get away with shit maybe I shouldn't have... but in the end it didn't get worse so having made a drama of it would have accomplished nothing and maybe even made it worse.

IMHO a lot of people worry far too much about stuff that isn't that important in the long run. If it won't matter in a month or won't be remembered in a week... why argue about it?

FTW
And...

If someone needs to be called on "their shit".... they probably pull "that shit" often enough that they dont really need to be called on it, because EVERYONE sees it... is it my place to tell that to someone? I thought so in the past.. but now I just see it as sad... its not my place.. I'm focused on my personal growth at the moment..

and a lot of times when you "call the shit".. the person isnt even open to what youre saying

meh..

I get called on it all the time. Just like Plummy, I'm totally content just sitting around. Take me out to do something and I'm elated, but I don't need to do that just to be happy. If you ask me if I want to eat "A" or "B" and I'd be happy eating either, it's "whatever". If I have a preference, I'll speak up. And "Sure" isn't woman-speak for "you should have known better", it's "yeah, that sounds ok".

<---is working on communicating better, or differently, because some things that make perfect sense to me don't seem to make sense to others

Are you so "easy going" that you're being walked all over?

I can see that as the only downfall of being easy going...I've found that people will try to take advantage all they can. For me, there's a happy medium of letting stuff slide that doesn't really matter and making sure I'm not a doormat.

Hmmm.. After scanning over the responses - maybe there isn't such a thing as too easy going.. rather more of just another personality type.

I personally am a person that just likes to go with the flow of things - more like a dog going for a car ride.. I also don't like to get upset about things I can not change. I don't think I've ever been viewed as a person that didn't care though.. Hmm.

Define easy going..is it because you care about people and put there needs before your own? Is it because you like everyone to be happy so you go along with everyone, but yet stand up for your beliefs. Is it because someone calls you out and you think whatever and you don't like confrontation anyway so you let it go. Unless your defending a friend or a strong belief then you stand like a rock. Maybe its because you were raised with respect for yourself and others and life just isn't that serious. If so then welcome to the club kid, glad to have you. Just try not to let people take advantage of that good nature of yours. Don't be a door mat and when you do let people walk on you, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, learn the lesson and loose there number....

Well I'd like to make it clear that I am not a push over, I do stand my ground and for the most part speak my mind.

Just certain situations I generally let slide. I guess give the impression I don't fight for what I want, which is just not true, I just pick my battles.

Eh, F-the naysayers, I'm guessing my blood pressure is a lot lower than theirs.

<3 U guys!

DAMN RIGHT!!!!

I wish more people would think this way. If it can't be changed, or it won't matter or be remembered in a couple weeks... why the hell make a big deal out of it?

A mountain out of a molehill? Why bother.

There is nothing wrong with being easy going and picking your battles. I am learning about picking battles myself, instead of picking every battle!

I think the important thing is to look at your intentions, motives and expectations. I found for me that I would be a people pleaser, and me being easygoing was merely an attempt to persuade peoples opinion of me. I would make myself a martyr, and create all these unattainable expectations for my s/o or friends, because of how nice I was for them. Again I don't think there is any wrong with being easygoing, but there are people with unhealthy motives. Just glad I don't have to play that game anymore, and quite honestly - your opinion about me, is none of my business.
