Question Ladies: what do you expect us to say when you ask "does this dress make me look fat"

Ladies, honestly what do you expect us to say when you ask "does this dress make me look fat?"

Either tell her she looks great or tell her how much better you like seeing it on the floor and then take it off of her.

The dreaded question, do I look fat uggh. I always say yes you look huge and you're ugly too now go stuff a roast down your throat and put on 10 more pounds.

Seriously guys.. if something doesn't look good on her then TELL her. I know I'd appreciate the honesty rather than going out and looking rediculous.

I'm with WB, tell her honestly if she doesn't look good or not.

I for one, don't ask the "does this make me look fat" question..umm I know it's not the clothes..

and I don't ask the question, cuz if I have to ask, I probably already know the answer

just say "no it doesn't make you look fat" (secretly you can be thinking "doesn't make you LOOK fat...cause you ARE fat"...if need be)

life will be better if you just say no.

In the short term, maybe. But over time, I will come to feel dishonest and the woman asking the question will cease to trust my word. I'm not OK with either one, so I'll try to find a diplomatic way to say that the outfit in question isn't as flattering as it could be.

I just don't ask that question. If I do ask a question like that its usually along the lines of 'does this look ok?'. If I think an outfit makes me look 'fat' then I am going to change regardless of the answer to that question, so why bother.

I think that as long as I am getting an honest opinion then any answer is good. When I ask that question I am usually just making sure the outfit is appropriate for what is going on. I would go to dinner in jeans and a tank top if you let me *shruggs*.

so that question is a terribly loaded one IMO...it seems that if you say yes, likely not going to go well...if you say no...they will assume you are lying and just as if you said yes...its not gonna go well...if you refuse to answer...they will assume you were thinking yes and didnt wanna lie and say no even thought if you had said no even if you werent lying they would assume you were thinking yes...

im not terribly experienced in these situations though...i frequently tend to end up with girls that are tiny and/or fairly slim...(not by any effort of mine, it just works out like that)...so most of my opinion here is based on 3rd party observation...
