Time?

For me time to get away and be with a GF at times is hard for me....
Working in my shop, things around my house, friends, and so on.

From a girls POV...
Is it required to spend like everyday, or try to talk to one another every few hours?
I personally cant stand to be bothered sometimes if there is NOTHING to talk about that was not already said four or five hours ago.

Living in my own reality....

I would die if someone wanted to see me everyday. I would feel smoothered and I would freak out, I like having my own time to get my shit done and visit with friends, ride my bike, etc.

As far as talking, I think if your dating, personally I don't need to talk every couple hours, and if i'm busy, I'll send just a small text or something so the person knows i'm thinking about them, but I don't feel like I need to talk to them ALL THE TIME. Once a day would be fine, even a little less. But again, this is dating.

I hate it when people are that needy, myself. That's part of why I'm not with one of my prior gfs. I'd tell her I was leaving for a ride with the guys and she'd want to know all the details of the ride and if I didn't have them she'd call and text and leave voicemails as soon as I was gone. Blech!

My views on this have changed over time.

When a relationship is "new", I tend to get excited and want to spend a lot of time with the person, getting to know her, talking about life, etc.

As the relationship progresses, things settle out and you get comfortable and things pace themselves out.

In past relationships where I didn't get to see the girl very often, I had the habit of wanting to spend more time talking to her on the phone. In my more recent relationships, I've gone a few days between chatting at times and the world didn't fall apart.

I think a lot of it has to do with self-confidence, comfort, and just finding the right balance with the other person.

I have a busy life and don't mix dating with my kids.. so I don't have a lot of time to offer personally. But I DO like to know that I'm thought of every day.. Even if it's just a text message saying good morning. If a day goes by without any form of communication, I'll go to bed bummed out.
